Departments’ Activities: This academic session is a very hard session due to pandemic and owing to Covid-19 pandemic all events were conducted in online mode.

1. Department Faculty Meeting: Faculty meeting in our department is as important as making action plan for the upcoming session and also chalks out the solutions to certain obstacles in and outside the academic activities. Faculty meeting is held regularly to ensure all the academic activities are running smoothly, in this academic session we have 12 times faculty meeting so far in virtual platform, the meeting is usually chair by the head of department and keep the record of meeting minutes.

2. Orientation: For a professional course conducting orientation programme is indispensable in every semester. It is designed especially for the newly admitted students where the fresh students learnt general rules, overview of syllabus, co-curricular activities etc. In this academic year too, to mark the beginning of the new academic session amid the covid-19 pandemic, the department conducted online orientation programme on the first two days of the beginning of the year. 

3. Class Meeting & Mentoring: Class meeting and mentoring is one of the integral parts of the department where the senior most students (V semester) conducted the meeting at the beginning of the academic year. The significant of this meeting is that the senior most students act as mentor to their juniors in the academic realm.  

4. One-Day orientation of PPTCT & EMTCT: The department in collaboration with AHANA Project, Mizoram organized one day awareness programme on 21st January, 2022. It was organized in online (virtual) Mode and there were more than 80 participants. The main purpose of this orientation is to sensitize the audience how to response the emerging various issues on AIDS/HIV. Mr. Lalneihkima Zofa was the resource person and Miss Zonunmawii Programme Officer Ahana project host the meeting.

5. World Social Work Day: Webinar in commemoration of World Social Work Day organized by the Department of Social Work, HATIM, in collaboration with Department of Social Work, ICFAI University, Mizoram and Department of Social Work, Devine Mercy College, Aizawl on 15th of March, 2022 on the theme of “Co-Building  a New Eco-Social World: Leaving No One Behind”. It was successfullly held by using Google Meet with 172 participants. Mr R Lallianzela, Asst Professor, presided over the meeting. The Principal of HATIM, Mr Vuansanga Vanchhawng, gave the welcoming remarks. Mrs. C. Lalremtluangi, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, offered a key remark in keeping with the theme. 

Miss Rebek Lalruatdiki Khiangte, Co-founder Director, Full Life Access Trust/ Ka Thiante In, Lunglei was the resource person. Miss Rebek, being a resource person delivered a message based on the theme by motivating the Social Worker aspirants. To conclude the programme, Dr. Zothankimi Ralte, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Social Work, ICFAI University, Mizoram, proposed a vote of thank.

6. Faculty Exchange Programme: The Department of Social Work HATIM and Department of Social Work Divine Mercy College, Aizawl signed Memorandum of understanding for the inter-college Faculty exchange programme on 28th March, 2022. The programme was scheduled between 28th March to 5th April 2022 and was held in the virtual platform.

7. Virtual Observation Visit: Observation Visit is compulsory for every first semester student as per University regulations. In this academic year, the department arranged virtual observation visit on 4th & 5th of October, 2021 for our newly admitted students in different settings such as Baptist Church Orphanage, FLAT (Ka Thiante In), National Helpline for Senior Citizens, Lunglei and BCM Relief & Development, Ramzotlang Serkawn. 

8. Block Placement: Block placement is the field work component of the 6th semester students, the department had made the arrangement to conduct block placement in the month of March 2022 (i.e 15th-30th). Students were divided into six groups and went to different settings of their choice outside of Lunglei town such as Social Guidance Agency Aizawl, Calvary Healing Centre Tripura, DCPO Champhai, Shalom Aizawl, SHADE Lawngtlai, Aizawl Observation Home, Motherless Baby Home Aizawl, Remedy Health Care Aizawl and DCPO Siaha. Students were given guidance and had to submit daily report through WhatsApp/email to their respective guides 

9. Project Work/ Research: Although conducting Mini-research is one of the practical components for the 5th semester, the department re-arranged to conduct individual research work in their 6 semester due to lockdown imposed by the Government. Students simultaneously carried out research work during their block placement.
