CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS

As students are our future human resources they are held to a high standard of honesty and integrity as professionals, and their work has a significant impact on people's lives. Thus, they are expected to provide their duties as students with fairness, equity, impartiality, and a commitment to safeguarding public health, safety, and welfare. Adhering to the highest ethical principles is a must for all students and a fundamental aspect of their professional conduct. Therefore, students enrolled in the college should obey the rules and adhere to the discipline of the college. Students ought to observe the following rules:

 Students are expected to join the morning devotions/assembly respectfully.

 Students are advised to be neat and clean in body, mind and spirit and to behave with courtesy and dignity. They must show due respect to all the staff members maintaining a family spirit. Disobedience and misconduct shall be seriously dealt with.

 Students are expected to attend classes with regularity and punctuality and to refrain from any action that may disturb the smooth functioning of the college.

 Students must remain in their respective classrooms before the concerned teacher enters. Remaining or loitering outside the classrooms during the class hours is strictly prohibited; unless otherwise permitted. They are expected to go to the reading room/library during their off periods.

 No student shall enter or leave the classroom during class time without the permission of the teacher concerned.

 No student shall enter the class other than his own without the permission of the Principal or the concerned Head of the Department during the class time or intervals.

 Students are not permitted to approach any college authority in groups, and such action is subversive of orderly academic life.

 All college property should be handled with great care. Scribbling and dirtying the benches, tables, chairs or walls in any way is strictly prohibited. Loss or destruction of college property is chargeable individually or collectively. No furniture should be displaced.

 Students must observe the rules of the college given by the college authority from time to time.

 Students should wear their identity cards while in campus and produce them on demand for inspection by any staff member or other college authorities. Identity card is to be produced at the office for issuing of any certificate from the college, remitting fees etc. If the card is lost, a duplicate card may be issued at the students' expense with the special permission of the Principal.

 Political activity is strictly banned in campus. Students must not resort to any strikes, picketing or conduct any procession within the campus.

 Without the prior sanction of the Principal, students are not permitted

a)      to indulge in raising of funds, sell any goods and articles,

b)      to convene or attend meetings of any sort in any circumstances anywhere in the college buildings or its premises,

c)      to set up entertainments or organize social functions in the college,

d)     to make use of megaphones and loudspeakers in the campus,

e)      to invite any outside persons to the college for any functions,

f)       to collect subscriptions of any kind,

g)   to put up notices or hoist flags of any organisation or to display banners, posters, bunting etc. anywhere in the campus to place any paper, periodical or book in the reading room or circulate them in the college.

 Use of tobacco and its related substances in any form or way is strictly prohibited. Smoking, consumption and possession of alcoholic drinks and drugs are strictly forbidden in campus and shall invite serious disciplinary action such as expulsion.

 All notices to the students will be put up on the notice boards, the college website and/or official social media groups of the respective classes.

 Any student (1) who is persistently insubordinate, (2) who is repeatedly or wilfully mischievous, and (3) who in the opinion of the Principal /the college authority is likely to have an unwholesome influence on other students shall be removed from the rolls temporarily or permanently or may be served with a compulsory Transfer Certificate according to the gravity of the offence. The Principal may refuse to grant grade cards/semester mark sheets/ certificate for a specified period and may also report their case to the university to deal with under University regulations.

 Students are not allowed to use mobile phones in the classrooms, college campus and Hostels unless otherwise permitted by the Principal or a relevant authority for a specified purpose or period of time. Any student who violates this rule shall be liable to disciplinary action.

 Students are directed to Park their vehicles only in the area allotted for them.

 

RAGGING:

Ragging is strictly forbidden and is punishable by rustication or expulsion from the college, as per directives of the Honourable Supreme Court. Anti-Ragging Cell is actively alert and engaged to ensure that no ragging takes place within the college campus.
