REPORT ON MIZO HNAM LAM INZIRTIRNA PROGRAMME

The Cultural Club of Higher and Technical Institute, Mizoram (HATIM) organized the Mizo Hnam Lam Inzirtirna Programme at Zotuitlang from 5th to 9th January, 2026 under the Village Adoption Programme. The programme aimed to preserve and promote traditional Mizo dances among students and the local community.

The programme was open to middle and high school students and other interested participants. A total of seven training sessions were conducted, during which the traditional dances Lai Sarlamkai and Cheraw (Kantluang) were taught by HATIM Cultural Club volunteers in an interactive manner.

Daily participation increased steadily, with attendance rising from 34 students on 6th January to 45 students on 9th January, reflecting strong interest and engagement.

The concluding session on 9th January, 2026 was graced by members of the Zotuitlang Village Council, led by President Mr. Jacob Lalthanpuia. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, and Dokimos were presented to the Village Council members as a token of appreciation.

Overall, the programme successfully enhanced awareness and appreciation of traditional Mizo cultural heritage among the participants.
