A career talk on the topic “Prospects of Studying Abroad” was conducted on the 23rd of October by the Department of Social Work, HATIM. The session was held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with Ms. K. Lalhmangaihkimi, from the Department of Management, Schiller University, Heidelberg, as the resource person. The program was chaired by Dr. C. Lalremtluangi, who gave a brief introduction about the speaker, highlighting her academic background, achievements.
During the first session, Ms. K Lalhmangaihkimi, shared detailed information on the procedures and requirements for studying overseas. She discussed important topics such as mandatory documents, admission processes, and stages of preparation. The speaker explained the significance of English proficiency tests like IELTS and TOEFL, their components, and examination fees. .
In the second session, she elaborated on visa application procedures, financial requirements, and the importance of opening a blocked account for studying in countries like Germany. The speaker also shared insights on health insurance, accommodation, and interview stages. The interactive part of the talk allowed students to ask questions about scholarships, exam validity, and loan options. Overall, the session was very informative and inspiring, motivating students of the Social Work Department to explore global educational opportunities and prepare themselves for studying abroad. The programme was concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Isak Malsawmtluanga, 5th Semester BSW and Mr Dr. Rosangliana Khiangte presented Ms. K. Lalhmangaihkimi a Certificate and Dokimos as a token of appreciation.
