NEP: Higher and Technical Institute, Mizoram (HATIM) was established in June 2007. Since NEP 2020 was introduced during the Academic Session 2023-24, we have the students of NEP (1st Year students) and CBCS (2nd & 3rd Year students) in the department.

ACTIVITIES: 

 

1) From 18th July to 18th August, 2023, Mrs. Lalmalsawmi, (System ID: 2022552413) and Mrs. Megan Lalthanpari Khawlhring, (System ID: 2022447915), M.A. History, Sharda University, had completed their internship programme successfully at the Department of History, Higher and Technical Institute, Mizoram (HATIM).

 

2) On 19th October, 2023 (Thursday), the Department organised ‘Parents Teachers Meet - 2023’ (PTM) at the College Auditorium in which 18 parents/guardians of the student participated.

 

3) From 16th to 19th January, 2024, the Department organised a study tour at Tlabung, Lunglei District for the Final/3rd Year students on the theme “Colonial History through Material Culture : Heritage Walk at Tlabung”. The students had submitted their field study reports which were printed and made available for access in the Department and the College Library.

 

4) As a department, the mentoring system (Mentee-Mentor system) of History students functioned regularly which created a close relationship between the mentor (Faculty) and mentee (students). This system is very useful for the students in their studies and personal life.

 

BOOKS FOR HISTORY: 

During the 2023-24 academic session the Department had 250 new books for History subject. Presently, there are 606 books related to History subject in the College Library.
