About the department
INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES:
By the grace of Almighty God, the Department of Education, HATIM pondering to continue education for the academic session 2023-2024 tremendously. From this academic year, National Education Policy 2020 implementation is one of the major challenges that makes an enormous impact on the Department and Institution as well.
On behalf of the Department of Education, I would like to thank with a deep sense of gratitude the Principal Mr. Vuansanga Vanchhawng, for his support and continual guidance to date which has made a positive impact on the department in every manner. I appreciate all my colleagues for their cooperation, encouragement and determination to enhance the development in various positions towards achieving the aims and goals of the Department.
The core principle of the Department is not only to let the students succeed in academic careers but also to develop skills, and to build up their ability and potentiality in an appropriate manner for the development and progress in their daily life. In addition, NEP 2020 has paved the way for developing all aspects and capabilities of learners, and making education more well-rounded, useful and fulfilling to the learner.
During this academic session as of March, our final year Students experienced field visits twice under the guidance and supervision of course instructors - the period of Odd and Even semester as part of their papers to acquire new knowledge and information as well as to emphasize the department activity. It was a great opportunity for the Department to implement one of the goals of Education that students were not only to develop and learn their lesson, but also to engage in extra-curricular activities which will facilitate them to apply their knowledge and skill-learned for their future endeavors.
The Under Graduate Bachelor of Arts in Education is a three year degree course. The general objective of the course is to help students acquire extensive knowledge about educational concepts, ideas, methods and applications.
COURSE OUTCOMES:
After completing a three year degree course in Education, the students will:
(i) Be well acquainted with the basic tenets of education.
(ii) Understand the educational concepts and ideas and will be able to explain them in their own words.
(iii) Use their acquired knowledge for the purpose of creating new ideas, methods and solutions to problems.
(iv) Be able to make judgement about the value of educational ideas/ methodologies and come up with appropriate suggestions and innovations.
